The Young Musicians' Foundation Orchestra was founded by Singaporean conductor Darrell Ang (who remains their Artistic Advisor) and several prize-winning prodigies who have made it their mission to represent and support other young Singaporean musicians like themselves.

In the past, TYMFO has performed for President Tony Tan, Keppel Corp's massive 45th Anniversary Gala, Gazprom's annual classical music showcase at SOTA, and at the First Singapore-Russia Jazz Festival with Jeremy Monteiro. All appearances by the Young Musicians' Foundation (Singapore) Orchestra are in line with the Foundation's mission: to raise funds in support of Singapore's less fortunate young musical talents who wish to pursue professional studies in music either in Singapore or abroad.

Their most recent appearances include the COMPASS Awards 2015 held at the Resorts World Sentosa Grand Ballroom and heartlands outreach events at Pasir Ris and Ang Mo Kio.
